Courtney Porter, the driving force behind Positive Image Performing Arts, is committed to providing youth in underserved communities with performing art experiences and education.

“Embrace Your Weird!” is Carlos Bocanegra’s ethos. His art bar, Monstercade, is an ever changing performance space for alternative music and art, in addition to a gathering space for all local misfits.

Courtney provides performing art experiences to youth in underserved communities. She gives out scholarships to students and provides the technical training in dance to help them further their artist ambitions. I wanted to capture her drive, ingenuity and fun loving spirit.

Carlos helps bring together artists and gives them a place to showcase their work and design through various forms and mediums. We joked back and forth and tried various poses.
