Pamela Phillips and Charlie Watkins
Pamela Phillips creates a safe and encouraging home for young men, and believes in them until they can believe in themselves. She smiles for the benefit of others so that every child in her care would know that they are loved.
Charlie Watkins is passionate about preserving historic properties in Winston-Salem. Through his real estate business, he cares deeply for his neighborhood, his community and representing the LGBTQ community.

Though Charlie and I come from very different backgrounds, we have so much in common and we both care about the people we serve. To show his smile, heart, and excitement, we talked about the things that make him happy, his love for people, and his parents’ pride in him.

Pam serves displaced youth and supports their mental health. She is compassionate, strong and selfless. She smiles for the benefit of others. I think in the latter part of the shoot where she started moving around on her own were some of the best shots that showed this smile. We bonded over both having specific events in our lives that were pivotal in our chosen paths of serving others.
