KISHA BARI
Lead Artist
Kisha Bari is an award-winning photographer based in New York who is passionate about capturing people through portraiture and visual storytelling with a focus on humanitarian issues. She has worked with a range of subjects from America’s union workers to Native American leaders, and from world-renowned ballet dancers to rockstars.
Kisha was three times featured in solo exhibitions at Photoville, New York City’s biggest photo festival; her portrait documentary How Sandy Hit Rockaway (2013), ReSisters : Behind the Scenes of the Women’s March (2017) and most recently ‘The Meaning of Now: Living Life with Cancer (2018).
Her work has been published by numerous media outlets including The New York Times, The Washington Post, Rolling Stone, NPR , Elle and Cosmopolitan Magazine.
JASMIN CHANG
Lead Artist
Jasmin Chang is a Brooklyn-based artist and producer whose projects connect people who may not otherwise be connected through conversation, collaboration and curation. She is the co-founder of Community Heroes, a community-based public art project highlighting everyday unsung heroes in collaboration with local artists, currently on display in two public parks in New York City. Since, she has been the community and education producer for United Photo Industries and Photoville, New York City’s largest photo destination free and open to the public.
MAGALIE YACINTHE
Local Coordinator
Magalie is the owner of YES, Yacinthe Event Services, an event strategy firm that works with global clients. She currently serves as Interim Executive Director of HUSTLE, an organization dedicated to leveling the playing field for entrepreneurs with a focus on women, people of color, and marginalized business districts. Most recently, Magalie launched SO-IN Forsyth, a socially innovative oil company.
Magalie sits on the Board of Directors for Forsyth Futures and the Delta Arts Center, and is a 2018 graduate of Leadership Winston-Salem. She serves in advisory roles for local startups, The Feeling Friends and The Dream School. Magalie is a member of the Winston-Salem Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta and serves as the Chair of Arts & Letters. In 2018, the City Council and the Human Relations Commission honored Magalie as a recipient of the Martin Luther King Jr. Young Dreamers Award.
AARON GIBBONS
Fabricator
Aaron Gibbons is a local fabricator and custom furniture maker in Winston-Salem with a woodworking and metalworking shop in the nearby town of King. He creates sculpture and functional art with a passion to bring out the natural beauty in an object or material.
Aaron has a bachelor’s degree in art with a concentration in sculpture and a teaching license from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. He began his professional art training at Surry Community College and at Sawtooth School of Visual Arts.
KENDRA HARDING
Student Media Liaison
Kendra Bragg Harding is a composer and songwriter from the Piedmont area of North Carolina. She was born in Winston-Salem, and raised in Northern Africa and the Middle East, an upbringing she says has influenced her approach to music as well as her passion for service. She received her bachelor’s degree in music business from Gardner-Webb University in 2014, and her master’s in composition from UNCSA in 2017, where she studied with Kenneth Frazelle. Kendra continues to compose for a variety of ensembles, such as the Cornichon Wind Quintet who recently premiered her piece Peregrination in November . She also performs as a songwriter and member of Americana group The Brown Mountain Lightning Bugs. Kendra lives in the Piedmont of North Carolina with her husband, Zack, and their dogs, Joni and Moon Moon.

Segun Michael believes one of my core purposes in life is to inspire people towards positive living. He has over 10 years experience in different forms and expressions of art. A professional photographer, captivating story-teller, talented voice-over artist and voice animator; He is a creative thinker with an eye for details.
WINSTON-SALEM PORTRAIT PROJECT HOST COMMITTEE
The Winston-Salem Portrait Project host committee is composed of over 30 incredible representatives from all corners of Winston-Salem who will work together to shape the portrait project. This group of movers and shakers is spearheading community outreach to find the 64 portrait participants, and suggest locations for the artwork.
