Marva Reid

Marva Reid represents the East Ward of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was raised in Winston-Salem, then traveled the world for 25 years, only to return to the same house that she grew up in. There was a mural done on their corner store, in order to make a change through beautification in their area, which inspired her to join the Winston-Salem Portrait Project. They do everything to make the community better, such as hosting events and building new recreational activities.

Marva enjoys the people here in Winston. “They keep me youthful because I’m always reminded of when I was a young child”, she says. Marva is excited to be a part of this project.
